We were chatting with an analyst the other day about the shapeof the market and where the 'next big thing' was going to comefrom. He has contacts that would be prepared to invest heavilyin an online casino if there was an angle.
Why did he need an angle? Well in turns out that our CasinoGenie customers are right (well done all of you!). This analystbelieves that 99% of casinos offer the same gaming experiencewith no regard to customer experience or service levels. 'It'stoo expensive to be different and no one wants to take therisk.'.
So anyway back to that angle story. What are the options?
Students? Too poor but may be if we could nurture the right onesfor the future. But non too ethical.
Silver surfers? May be but they don't like to look at themselvesthat way in the sector. Plus what are you going to do? Havebigger writing and have chat rooms where we could talk about theold days when gambling was played by real men, not these 'newman, Texas Hold'em types'. We kicked this idea around for awhile but decided that there were too many barriers, like thetechnology and let's face it - 'old dog, new tricks'. Nah.
The Pink Ticket - Been done to death plus it would bepatronizing for us to do so.
Porntastic Play - This had to be the winner. Late night bonuses;naked bodies running around the screen in games of live videocam strip poker; man primal need to conquer. This hasn't beendone properly (the term properly is relative) by anyone else. Wecould do this ourselves. We'd be billionaires. But then therewas the sudden commercial realization that something like thiscould never happen as our wives wouldn't let us.
So what other groups are there? I know said Will, "Rich people. In fact, not rich people. Really, really, really rich people."
"Genius.", I cried.
"Idiots.", the analyst said.
"But why not?", I said.
The reasons were simple. High rollers don't like online casinosas there is no online casino set up to cater for them. Allegedlynot even The Ritz Club London and nor VIP Casino. Really, really, really rich people have expectations. The site must betruly exclusive. They want things free. They require personalhandling. They are usually well educated and risk averse. Theyalso have large sums of money which they are prepared to win orlose. If they win they win big. The casino loses big. The casinoalso has the pay lots of money nurture the customer for thatrisk. Therefore most casinos go for the mass market. The massmarket loses more collectively. The mass market doesn't terrifythe casinos as they are generally 'not so good at gambling'.
Thus the story goes and thus be prepared for nothing but averagecasino experiences for the next two years until someone decidesthat they will do things differently just like Walter 'Puggy'Pearson's Freeze Out idea in 1972 for tournaments.
